Process
How it works.
Your involvement ends when Charles leaves your home. Everything after that (the research, the listings, the questions, the packing, the postage) is his to manage.
Tell Charles what you have
A quick message or call is all it takes. Describe what you are thinking of selling - even a rough idea is fine. Charles will tell you honestly what is worth selling, what to expect in terms of price and timeframe, and whether anything is unlikely to find a buyer.
There is no commitment at this stage. Many people call with a list and Charles narrows it down with them.
No obligation, no charge for an initial conversation. Prefer to talk in person? Charles is happy to meet in Beaconsfield New Town - just mention it when you get in touch.Charles comes to you
Charles arranges a time to visit. He inspects each item in person, discusses condition, and gives you an indicative price range for each one. You then set the minimum you will accept - the amount you will receive after Charles's fee. Nothing sells for less without your agreement.
Charles takes everything away with him. From this point, you are done. On collection, Charles provides a written record of every item taken and the minimum price agreed for each one.
Items remain yours until sold. You can request them back at any point before a sale completes (a small cancellation fee applies if the item has already been listed).Charles handles everything
Each item is researched thoroughly - comparable sold prices, the right platform, the right keywords. Charles photographs everything properly, writes detailed and accurate descriptions, and fields every buyer enquiry. Lowball offers, time-wasters and questions are all dealt with before they reach you.
When something sells, Charles packs it carefully and manages the shipment or local collection. All of this is included in the fee - there is nothing additional to pay for photography, packaging materials or time spent answering buyer questions. Postage costs are paid by the buyer.
For large, collection-only items (furniture, bicycles, exercise equipment) Charles coordinates all arrangements with the buyer. You never need to be involved or present.
Nothing is ever listed under your name. All items appear under the central Charles's Marques branded account - no connection to your identity, profile or address. You receive payment
Payment is sent to you within 30 days of the sale. The delay exists because buyers have a statutory right to return items that are faulty or significantly mis-described. Charles absorbs that risk - if a return happens, he handles it entirely and relists the item for resale. Returns occur in approximately 1 in every 200 transactions.
If something has not sold after three months, Charles will be in touch to review. Usually the price needs adjusting. At that point you can revise the minimum, take the item back, or ask Charles to donate it on your behalf to a local charity.
If you have several items selling across different timelines, you can check in with Charles at any time for a status update - he will tell you exactly where each item stands.
No sale means no fee - ever.Included in Charles's fee
Everything, from start to finish.
The 15% covers the full process. There are no additional charges for any of the following.
